What Are The Options For Getting My Mail in Homes and What Is The Cost Difference?

Standard / Presort Mail:

  •  All standard mail prices are bulk mailing prices, and each mailing must meet a minimum quantity of 200 pieces or 50 pounds of mail. With standard mail, there are prices for letters and flats. Postage prices are broken into levels of discounts based on how many pieces of mail meet a given level criteria such as carrier route saturation, 5 digit, 3 digit or AADC level mail. Postage rates vary from 19.8 to 30.1 cents per piece.

Drop Ship Mailing

  • Same as above but instead of dropping your mail at the closest mail center to the mail house you are using, it is drop shipped via fedex or UPS to a SCF closer to the place where the mail will be delivered. This cuts quite a bit of time off the delivery. Pricing is usually about $200 per shipment but varies by weight and quantity.

PMOD (Priority Mail Open and Distribute)

  • You mail your trays or sacks of Standard Mail via Priority Mail to the postal facility nearest the final destination of your mail. This is a very cost effective way to get your message to your customer sooner. Pricing varies and is determined by weight. May range from 3-8 cents per piece on top of the standard postage rate. This option can get mail in homes almost as fast as first class mail depending on destination.

First Class Postage Mail Delivery

  • When time is critical this is the only option. First class mail gets top priority at the post office and average delivery times nationwide of just a few days. Pretty impressive! It is however much more than standard mail ranging from 38 to 46 cents each. A 500 piece minimum is needed for first class presort discounts.
